Pulling on academic articles by Dai-In Danny Han and Wim Strijbosch, Chris Lattner (The Room Laboratories) talks through the elements that make an escape room fully immersive including environmental storytelling and systems design. Breaking down the timeline of the history of escape rooms, he uses his own immersive escape game Brandon Darkmoor as as example of how to make a contemporary escape room fully immersive from the point of design onwards.
