Museums and immersive: a decade journey at the V&A
Less than 20% of the UK have visited a museum in the last 12 months, and lots of people think that museums are dry, boring and not for them. At the V&A we’ve spent the last ten years working on projects that try to be the opposite. So far we’ve explore various ideas and approaches for what immersive can mean at the V&A and this will be a quick look our journey and reflect on where we might try and go in the future.

Evonne Mackenzie
Evonne is Head of Design at the V&A. She leads on design across V&A South Kensington, Young V&A, V&A Wedgwood Collection and V&A East for exhibitions, galleries, displays, brands, campaigns and more.
Prior to the V&A Evonne worked globally at Heatherwick Studio; as Director Arts at the British Council Indonesia and as Programmer of Architecture, Design, and Fashion at the British Council in London, creating projects with partners across East Asia and the Middle East.
Evonne started her career in Scotland at The Lighthouse, Scotland’s Centre for Architecture and Design, for the Six Cities Design Festival and the Royal Conservatoire on a wide range of design and creative projects.
