Its influence can be seen in high-profile experiences like Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser and Bridge Command, and it’s celebrated for giving players meaningful agency within challenging, politically complex narratives. Led by a panel of international experts, this session reveals field-tested lessons from the world of larp like player onboarding, safety mechanics, open source technology development, and community knowledge-sharing.

Adrian Hon is a game designer, author, and former CEO and founder of Six to Start.
At Six to Start, Adrian co-created Zombies, Run!, led the design of Marvel Move, won Best of Show at SXSW, and worked on multiple projects with Disney Imagineering. Other works include the Perplex City ARG; You’ve Been Played, a critique of gamification; and the novel A History of the Future in 100 Objects. His next book is about the history and future of immersive art.

Laura Kröger is a Finnish larp designer and producer who has worked with larp since 2000. She was the lead producer and narrative director of Odysseus, a large-scale sci-fi larp run in Helsinki in 2019 and 2024. The volunteer-driven project gained wide recognition for its scenography, technology, and intricate clockwork design, drawing attention from both national media and the international larp community. In addition to designing larps, Kröger has lectured at multiple events on larp production and design. Outside the larp world, she works as a project and service manager in software development at CGI.

Mike Pohjola is a Finnish larp creator, novelist, transmedia developer, playwright, game designer and entrepeneur. He has founded two media companies, that together have won an International Emmy Award, two Interactive Rockies, and a Prix Europa. He has graduated as a Master of Arts in Screenwriting from Aalto University, where his Master’s Thesis dealt with participatory storytelling in Classical Greece. He is also the designer and author of Age of the Tempest – a tabletop roleplaying game aimed for kids and beginners. Pohjola is a frequent speaker at media and game conferences around the world.

Rebel Rehinder is a larp producer from Sweden who in five short years has led the production of four international Blockbuster larps, including Cyberpunk London, Mörkveden, Goetia and Valour Manor. She has run a series of successful shortform larps including the Sacrament International larps running in UK, Sweden, Denmark, Croatia, Netherlands and the United States and eleven installations of the TavernQuest series of larps.
Rebel lives in London where she also co-hosts London’s International Larp Festival the Smoke entering its ninth year in 2026 presenting larps of 50 designers from all over the world. She is always on the lookout for venues, and ways in which the larp scene can expand all over the world.
