Street-Level Storytelling: Turning Places into Interactive Adventures

Tues

How do you create an interactive story that spans a city or location? We bring together some of the creative and technical minds behind some of the biggest interactive games and geolocation platforms to discuss the tools they use to create them, along with the creative and technical challenges they’ve encountered creating engaging content for remote audiences.

We’ll be talking about how new accessible tools allow you to create location based AR stories, how you can build your own location based treasure hunts and how do you tell engaging stories through gamified experiences.

Tom Syms

I’m a creative director, gameplay designer, and LAMDA-trained performer. I’ve designed live events for companies including EON Productions, Netflix, Disney, Lionsgate and Hasbro and have worked with many of the industry’s leading creators such as Secret Cinema, The Path Entertainment Group, Les Enfants Terribles, and Immersive Everywhere. As an actor I’ve performed across the UK and in the West End.

My latest projects include 007: Shadow Of Spectre (as Writer and Creative Director) and Monopoly Lifesized (as Director).

My expertise and passion in the immersive industry sits at the intersection of live events and game design.

Mark Naus
Caught

Hey, I’m Mark — founder of Caught.

I started Caught 10 years ago because I wanted the freedom to dream up location-based adventures… and actually make them real. That’s still our mission: we give you the tools, you bring the ideas.

With the Caught Toolbox, you don’t need tech skills. Just imagine it and build — fast, easy, reliable. Whether it’s indoor or outdoor, a rallye, treasure hunt, city game, or even a corporate event, you’ll have everything you need to create your own location-based app.
